To be truly free is to live in perfect unity with me and reliance upon me. It comes from a lifestyle of submission. Not submission that stems from duty and obligation, but a true yielding of every aspect of your body, soul, and spirit, because of love. Love beckons you to lay everything at my feet.
Every action, each thought, every desire—surrendered to me, the One who loves you perfectly. When you live in submission to me, seeking my will and desiring to be fully surrendered, nothing can highjack your peace. This doesn’t mean you don’t experience trials; it means trials no longer have a right to torment you. They don’t become bigger than the knowledge of my love and power.
When you’re free, you feel no pressure to make things happen on your own; you simply live in total trust. Freedom enables you to see clearly, because you act only on my instruction—joyously abandoned to my will. This is the freedom I’ve called you to. And it releases peace that surpasses all understanding.
Don’t be pulled in different directions or worried about a thing. Be saturated in prayer throughout each day, offering your faith-filled requests before God with overflowing gratitude. Tell him every detail of your life, then God’s wonderful peace that transcends human understanding, will make the answers known to you through Jesus Christ. PHILIPPIANS 4:6–7
